Vibe Boards

UMKC University Libraries Digital Collaboration Studio logo

Thanks to a gift from the UMKC Alumni Association, the Digital Scholarship Services team has introduced Vibe Boards to spaces across UMKC Libraries. Users can use Vibe Boards for collaborative digital whiteboard technology, Zoom/Teams meetings, and additional screen sharing options.

Digital Scholarship Services employees are trained to support you in basic use of the Vibe Boards, both in the Digital Collaboration Studio Commons and in the Collaboration Rooms. If you anticipate needing additional assistance with the Vibe Boards, please reach out to umkcdss@umkc.edu for staff to assess your needs.

General Use

  • Vibe Boards are available in the Collab Rooms 310A & 310B and the DCS Commons. The first floor of Miller Nichols and the Health Sciences Library each have a Vibe Board available for check out. Please check-in at their service points for additional information and support.
  • Vibe Board must be plugged in and powered on (using the button on the back right side) to be in use.
  • Vibe Boards use a session-based use model.
    • Patrons use the board under a “session” and when that session is over, either manually or due to inactivity, the board logs out of all applications and removes any saved files.
  • The Vibe Board can be controlled via touch and/or included Vibe Stylus.
  • Vibe Tap is the preferred method for Screen Sharing capability.
  • Vibe Boards in the Collaboration Rooms are equipped with the Vibe Camera. The Vibe Camera allows users to take part in teleconferencing technology using the Vibe Board.
    • For use of a Vibe Camera with the rolling Vibe Board, please reach out to the Service Desk.
  • You cannot use the Vibe Camera while using the Vibe Tap for screen sharing.

FAQ

  • Can I use the Vibe Camera while using the Vibe Tap?
    • You cannot connect to the camera from another device. The camera can only be used with apps downloaded on the Vibe Board. You cannot use the camera when a device is connected with the Vibe Tap. For example, if you want to use the Vibe Board for a Zoom meeting, you must login to your account using the app on the Board.
