High School Guest User Guide to Library Resources

Saving Articles at UMKC

The databases listed on this page are available when you are logged onto a computer at Miller Nichols Library as a guest user.

To save articles so you can use them later you must have a USB drive.

  • When you find an article you'd like to save, open the full-text PDF.
  • Find the Save button in the menu at the top of Adobe Reader, or in the menu that appears when your cursor is over the bottom of the page if the PDF is open in an Internet browser.
  • Save the article to your USB drive. Removable drives are usually an E: drive.

Log-In From Anywhere

If you are dual-enrolled at UMKC through your high school and the HSCP program  you have access to the UMKC Library resources off campus. You will need to know your Single Sign On (SSO) and password. Check here for instructions to set up your account and password, or here to change your password if you don't know it. For help with your account call Information Services at 816.235.2000.

Specialized Databases at UMKC

The UMKC Library has many specialized databases that contain only sources on a particular topic, as well as databases that contain only one type of source - like news, music, videos, primary sources, statistics and data, or government information.
