Lisa Gooden
Circulation & Operations Librarian
"Hi, I’m Lisa, I’m the Collections and Operations Librarian. I'm new to UMKC, but I’ve lived in Kansas City for over 20 years and worked in libraries most of that time. Prior to moving to Kansas City, I lived in New Orleans where I went to undergrad and this spring I brought my family back to experience their first Mardi Gras! I’m passionate about public education, my own children attend Kansas City Public Schools and over the years I’ve volunteered for a variety of KCPS committees as a parent representative. I love listening to live music, dancing, watching movies and travelling. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone at the UMKC Law School."
Q1: What is your all-time favorite book and why?
Music for Chameleons by Truman Capote. My favorite parts are the short stories about people he met throughout his life. The descriptions are so detailed and intimate. You're not just looking through the window to catch a glimpse of these encounters, it's like you're stepping into the moment and experiencing it yourself.
Q2: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
None?
Q3: What is your hidden talent?
Dancing.
Q4: What never fails to make you laugh?
Funny cat videos.
