June is Pride Month and the UMKC Libraries are celebrating the best way we know how: a book display! On the first floor of the UMKC Library, check out fiction, non-fiction, musical scores and more, all by LGBTQIA+ authors and artists.
The Gay and Lesbian Archive of Mid-America (GLAMA) is made up of collections located in the LaBudde Special Collections Department at the Miller Nichols Library at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The mission of GLAMA is to collect, preserve, and make accessible the materials that reflect the histories of the LGBT communities of the Kansas City region.
This site is the web version of a traveling exhibit that debuted in 2017. Originated as a project in the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Public History class following the installation of the commemorative marker by GLAMA and LGBT-KC. This website is the digital version of the traveling exhibit, which is touring the Kansas City metro area at libraries, community centers, and museums.
LGBTQIA+ student organizations reflect the interests of UMKC students. Find a club that fits your interests or start one of your own. We're here to support you.
