UMKC Libraries Book Displays

This guide acts as an accompaniment to our monthly book displays on various topics. It features books, ebooks, online resources, and links to related events.

April 2024 National Poetry Month

In April, UMKC Libraries celebrate National Poetry Month with a book display. This display has books available to borrow, as well as an interactive poetry activity. Digital resources, such as eBooks, audio recordings, and local events, can be found on this accompanying online resource guide.

The 2024 National Poetry Month poster (shown in part in the banner above) features artwork by award-winning children’s author and illustrator Jack Wong, and lines from “blessing the boats” by beloved poet Lucille Clifton. Wong was selected by Scholastic—the global children’s publishing, education, and media company—to create the artwork for this year’s poster as part of a new National Poetry Month initiative between the publisher and the Academy of American Poets.
