General Starting Point

​​​​Are you looking for Data on a Specific company or professional field? Try:

  • Google: type your topic in the search bar with the terms "association data" or "statistics"- think of who the head is of that particular area.
    • example: We googled: "pets data statistics association" and found statistics on pet ownership from the American Veterinary Medical Association

    • Type keywords on your topic in the search engine and see what comes up!
       
  • UMKC Library Catalog: If information is blocked or behind a paywall, try searching for it cited in scholarly articles. 
    • Authors on your topic may have used and cited data of interest to you.
    • Use keywords and Boolean operators to create a search string. 
    • You can also search for items at other University of Missouri System libraries.
