  Yearly survey of a sample of 3 million U.S. and Puerto Rico residents. Covers age, race, income, poverty, commute time to work, employment, home value,  housing finance, veteran status, education, fertility, mobility, language and transportation.

1 Year Estimates: areas=> 65,000 pop; most current info
3 Year Estimates: areas=> 20,000 pop; little less current that the 1 Year
5 Year Estimates: covers very small geographic areas; least current data

• Census Data
  U.S. Decennial Census data - demographic, social and economic data on your city, town, county or state or ZIP Code data in the form of maps, tables, and reports age, education, income, race and more; Housing data and characteristics. The 10 year census has been replaced by the American Community Survey.
   
• Consumer Expediture (Bureau of Labor Statistics) - Look for the "Tables"
   
• ESRI Community Analyst and ESRI Business Analyst

  These share much of the same data. Business Analyst has Retail Market Profile Reports and is better for site location.
