Critical Thinking and Research

How does critical thinking relate to information?

Critical thinking refers to the way that you explore issues, ideas, artifacts, and events, then incorporate multiple perspectives to form an evidence-based opinion or conclusion. Each of these steps, when applied to information, allows us to navigate the sea of information we are exposed to and use that data to sound, evidence based decisions.

This guide will give you some ideas on how to navigate the research process and gather information using the UMKC Libraries with critical thinking in mind.

We also have a collection of interactive tutorials to help you prepare your research and explore the the library.
