Off-Campus Connection
Almost all of the online library resources you use on-campus are available to you at any location, even in one of the partner hospitals. How do you "authenticate," or get the online system to recognize you in our UMKC network?
1. Use your UMKC Single Sign-On (SSO). This was issued to you when you started at UMKC. With this SSO, you can search any of the resources found on the Health Sciences Library's homepage (http://library.umkc.edu/hsl). When you try to enter a restricted section, you will be prompted for your SSO.
If you need help remembering you SSO, you must contact Information Services at 816-235-2000. The Health Sciences Library cannot help you with issues regarding your SSO, only Information Services can do that.
2. Use your UMKC EmplID. UMKC employees are issued an employee number, called an EmplID. It is a 9-digit number. When you try to enter a restricted section, you can enter your 9-digit UMKC ID number followed by the letter k (example: 123456789k) and your last name. This number can be found on your pay statement; disregard the beginning zero at the start of the number, if yours has one.
