Printing in the Libraries

The Basics

• UMKC students, staff, and faculty receive a $42.50 quota for printing each semester. When you print at UMKC Libraries, the cost is deducted from your print quota.
• When you run out of quota, add funds to your Roo Bucks account. If this is your first time adding Roo Bucks to your card, contact the One Card Office to have Roo Bucks activated before making a deposit. The One Card Office can be reached at (816) 235-6657 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm, or by email at umkconecard@umkc.edu.

Print from a library computer

1. Log on to a library computer with your UMKC username and password
2. Use the Print menu in any application (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) to initiate printing
3. Library printers are located:
   • Black & white:
     • Miller Nichols Library first floor
     • Miller Nichols Library ground floor
     • Health Sciences Library
     • All-Student Access Lab, Miller Nichols Library second floor
   • Color:
     • Miller Nichols Library, across from the first floor Service Desk
     • Music/Media computer lab, ground floor of the Miller Nichols Library
     • Health Sciences Library, across from the Service Desk
   • 11 x17 printing:
     • Available through color printers when printing from from a library computer (not available through Web Print)
     • When printing, select color printer and 11 x 17 paper size
4. At the printer, swipe your UMKC ID card, enter your student ID number, or scan the QR code on the printer to release your print job.
